Description
These Valentine Heart-Shaped Cinnamon Rolls are a fun and festive twist on a classic breakfast treat. Easy to shape and decorate, they’re perfect for sharing love with your sweetheart, family, or friends. Soft, gooey, and topped with creamy icing and colorful sprinkles!
Ingredients
- 1 can (12.4 oz) refrigerated cinnamon roll dough (or homemade cinnamon roll dough)
- Flour (for dusting, if using homemade dough)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened (optional)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (optional)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk, to adjust consistency (optional)
- Pink, red, and white sprinkles or sanding sugar
- Edible glitter (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Unroll each cinnamon roll slightly to create a long strip. Roll both ends inward to form the top of the heart and pinch the bottom into a point to shape a heart.
3. Place shaped rolls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
4. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
5. If making icing: beat softened cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk. Mix until creamy and smooth.
6. Let baked cinnamon rolls cool for 5 minutes before drizzling with icing.
7. Decorate with sprinkles, sanding sugar, or edible glitter while the icing is still soft.
8. Serve warm on a festive plate with coffee or hot cocoa.
Notes
If dough becomes sticky while shaping, chill it in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes.
Add red or pink food coloring to the icing for extra Valentine flair.
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
Reheat in the microwave for 10–15 seconds to enjoy warm again.
For a fun twist, sprinkle mini chocolate chips before baking or top with fresh berries.
