Description

Ingredients

1 cup powdered sugar (optional glaze)

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (for glaze)

1 teaspoon lemon zest (for garnish)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar until pale and fluffy.

3. Mix in dried lavender, lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla extract until well combined.

4. Gradually add flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.

5. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll into balls, placing them 2 inches apart on baking sheets.

6. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set and bottoms are lightly golden.

7. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

8. Whisk powdered sugar and lemon juice to make glaze, then drizzle over cooled cookies.

9. Garnish with extra lemon zest and serve.


Notes

Use culinary-grade lavender, preferably English lavender, for best flavor.

Zest lemons before juicing for easier preparation.

Do not overmix the dough to maintain a tender texture.
