Description

This Moist Blueberry Cobbler with Frozen Berries is simple, comforting, and packed with juicy fruit and warm cinnamon flavor. Made with pantry staples and frozen berries, it’s perfect any time of year.

Ingredients

Scale

For the pan preparation:

  • 1 tbsp butter (preferably unsalted)

For the batter:

  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (such as King Arthur)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

For the blueberries:

  • 2 tsp flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 cups frozen blueberries (do not thaw)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter a round quiche pan or casserole dish using 1 tbsp softened butter or non-stick cooking spray.

2. Melt ¼ cup butter in a microwave-safe bowl for 20–30 seconds. Let it cool slightly.

3. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, ½ cup sugar, 1 cup flour, 2 tsp baking powder, ½ tsp salt, 1 tsp cinnamon, and ½ cup milk until smooth.

4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.

5. Toss 2 tsp flour with the frozen blueberries in a bag or bowl to coat them lightly.

6. Evenly distribute the floured blueberries over the batter. Sprinkle 1 tbsp sugar on top.

7. Bake for about 45 minutes, until the edges are golden, the center is set, and the berries are bubbly.

8. Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.

Notes

Do not thaw the frozen blueberries before baking — this helps keep their texture intact and prevents sogginess.

For best flavor, use whole milk and real butter.

This cobbler is delicious on its own or served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
