Description

Delight in these Mint Oreo Truffles, a creamy, decadent treat combining the classic minty Oreo flavor with rich cream cheese and a smooth chocolate coating. Perfect for parties or a sweet snack, these truffles are easy to make, no-bake, and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

BASE

  • 1 package Mint Oreo cookies (approximately 36 cookies)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

COATING

  • 12 oz white or dark chocolate, melted
  • Green food coloring (optional, for white chocolate)

DECORATION

  • Sprinkles, crushed Oreos, or chocolate drizzle

Instructions

1. Crush the Oreos: Use a food processor to pulse the Mint Oreo cookies into fine crumbs or place them in a sealed bag and crush manually with a rolling pin until finely ground.

2. Mix with Cream Cheese: In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese. Stir until the mixture becomes a uniform, smooth dough-like consistency without any lumps.

3. Shape the Truffles: Roll the Oreo and cream cheese mixture into small balls about 1 inch in diameter. Place each ball onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

4. Chill: Refrigerate the formed truffles for at least 30 minutes to firm them up. Alternatively, you can freeze them for 15 minutes for quicker setting.

5. Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt your choice of white or dark chocolate by heating in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly after each. For white chocolate, add green food coloring incrementally to achieve desired color.

6. Coat the Truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s completely coated. Lift out and allow excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl before placing it back on parchment paper.

7. Decorate: Before the chocolate coating sets, add your choice of sprinkles, crushed Oreo crumbs, or drizzle with extra melted chocolate for a decorative touch.

8. Chill Again: Place the coated truffles back into the refrigerator until the chocolate hardens completely, about 15 to 30 minutes.

9. Serve and Enjoy: Once firm, serve your Mint Oreo Truffles chilled as a delightful dessert or treat.

Notes

Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps in the mixture.

White chocolate can be tricky to melt; use short intervals and stir well each time to prevent burning.

Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

For a firmer truffle, freeze before dipping and keep chilled until serving.

You can substitute the candy coating with candy melts if preferred.
