Description

Garlic Shrimp Pasta is easy to make in under 30 minutes with a rich parmesan cream sauce, juicy seasoned shrimp, and tender linguine. A comforting and flavorful weeknight dinner the whole family will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces linguine pasta, or pasta of choice
  • 1 pound large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun or Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning or oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 45 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and season with salt. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente, about 10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain pasta.

2. While pasta cooks, combine shrimp, olive oil, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl. Stir to coat evenly.

3. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 1 minute per side until charred. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.

4. Add remaining tablespoon of butter to skillet. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

5. Pour in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and reserved pasta water. Stir until cheese melts and sauce loosens. Taste and adjust salt if needed.

6. Toss cooked pasta into the sauce until fully coated. Return shrimp to skillet and gently toss to combine.

7. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley, extra Parmesan, or red pepper flakes. Serve immediately.

Notes

To store: Place leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 4 days.

To reheat: Microwave in 30-second intervals until warmed through, adding a splash of water or broth to loosen the sauce if needed.
